PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Old Firehouse is located in Ridgway, Colorado and once served as the neighborhood’s townhall and fire station starting in the late 1800’s. Its iconic characteristics include the original beige stacked stone, the recognizable wooden cupola, and beautiful views of the park across the street. Tasked with preserving the unique characteristics of this historic building, we transformed the interior of the firehouse into a unique restaurant, bar, and event space. My role as lead designer is to select materials such as white weathered ceilings, soft uplighting to highlight the natural stone, and contemporary black hardware, that allows us to marry the historic characteristics of the old building with the revitalized use of the new. I prepared all of our drawings and documentation for permits and construction has begun. The expected completion of this project is the Fall of 2024.
